AAI Submits Comments to EPA Regarding Endangered Species Workplan

On Monday, AAI submitted comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding its Endangered Species Act Workplan. That workplan that outlines steps the agency is taking to increase protections for wildlife and provide regulatory certainty for pesticide users.

EPA has proposed a list of mitigation measures that they will include on future pesticide labels. The measures include conservation practices and other restrictions to reduce pesticide movement via surface runoff, erosion, and spray drift. AAI’s comments stressed the need for pesticide use options especially with the important role pesticides play to implement conservation practices such as cover crops and no-till.
